Paul Roberts is a native of McGehee, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school in 1958.  He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello (then Arkansas A&M) from 1958-1959 on an athletic scholarship.  He transferred in 1959 to Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas on an athletic scholarship and graduated in 1962 with a BSE Degree in Education.  He obtained a Master’s Degree from Henderson State University in 1970 and in 1994 received a PhD in Educational Philosophy from LaSalle University.

Paul coached football, basketball, and track from 1962–1971 at Pine Bluff, Magnolia, and Hot Springs High Schools where his teams won five state football championships and three state track championships.

From 1970-1973, Paul served as Assistant Superintendent at Strong, Arkansas.  He served as high school principal in Eudora, Arkansas, in 1973-1974 and was high school principal in Fordyce, Arkansas, in 1974-1977.  In 1977, Paul became Superintendent of the Mountain Pine School District in Garland County until 1986 when he became Superintendent of the McGehee School District until 1989.

Paul was involved with his brother, Pat, in farming cotton, rice, soybeans, corn, and wheat in McGehee from 1989 to 1992.

In 1992 Paul returned to the education field as Superintendent of the Grady School District in Southeast Arkansas.  He retired from Grady Schools and public school education in 1999 and remains retired.

Paul has been a member of the Rotary Club of Heber Springs for nine years and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.  He has served his club as President-elect, President, Rotarian of the Year, board member, chairman of the tornado relief effort for Dumas and Clinton, co-chairman of the golf tournament, and chairman of the Honduras water project.   While president in 2006-2007, his club was named Club of the Year.

At the district level, Paul has served as an Aide to the Governor, Assistant Governor, District 6150 Golf Chairman for the past three years, a speaker evaluator at PETS, a presenter on Club Extension at the District Conference, and one of the original developers of the Clinton Area Rotary Club.
 
Paul is married to his wife Phyllis who is a Paul Harris Fellow.  They have six children and nine grandchildren.

Paul’s hobbies are playing golf, hunting, and listening to 1950 and 1960 rock and roll music.
