Hughes Rotarian Honored

Hughes, AR, (June 21, 2010) - Mr. Paul R. Kelly, Jr. was named the Rotarian of the Year for District 6150. He is known throughout the District for his commitment to Rotary. Mr. Kelly has served his club 4 times as President, and has been the Program Chair for the past 5 years. It has been said that, you don’t want to tell him that you can’t get a program. He says, “All you have to do is ask.”

Rotary International District 6150 Governor Debbie Brinkley was in town to make the special presentation, a surprise to Mr. Kelly. The Rotary Club of Hughes, chartered in April, 1938, has a long and rich history. Mr. Kelly’s father was one of the club’s founders. According to Rotary records, Paul Kelly became a member of the Rotary club of Hughes is 1948, when the club was celebrating its tenth anniversary. Sixty two years may seem like a long time to some, but you would have a hard time convincing Mr. Kelly that he has served long enough. The two mottos of Rotary “Service above Self” and “They profit most who serve best,” sum up the life of Rotarian Paul Kelly.

It was a fun night. Mr. Kelly is the most active Rotarian that I know. His passion for all that Rotary stands for are evident in all that he does.

Thank you Paul Kelly for being a Rotarian!
