Proposed Rules

The Department of State (DOS) has published new rules that, if implemented as proposed, will likely have an extremely detrimental effect on our Rotary youth exchange program.  This email is to ask you to send a letter to the Department of State expressing concern regarding these proposed new rules.

Click the links at right to download a sample letter for your consideration to use as a guide in developing these comments as well as the rules governing all exchange programs as they would exist if the proposed rules are adopted.  If you utilize the template to prepare your comments, please personalize it to the extent possible.

The DOS will accept comments up to June 2. You can email comments to JExchanges@state.gov.

NOTE: You must include the title (Exchange Visitor Program-Secondary School Students) and RIN (1400-AC56) in the subject line of your message.

Thanks so much for your help. The importance of submitting comments to the DOS by the June 2 deadline can not be underestimated. The future of the Rotary youth exchange program as we currently know it may well depend upon the success of getting revisions made to the rules proposed by the DOS.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this request.
