Rotary in the news
The Rotary Club of Lima Sunrise, Lima, Peru, and other local organizations helped distribute about 200 easy-to-use filters to provide clean drinking water to community members. The filters, which do not require electricity and have no moving parts to replace, will eliminate bacteria and parasites in the water. Read the full story, which appeared in LivinginPeru.com.
Rotary airports promotion
District 7250 (New York, USA) placed more than 40 Rotary-related messages at Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty airports with the help of a PR grant. The district customized Humanity in Motion billboard graphics with its contact information. The airport billboards provide a strong example of targeted public relations outreach and a creative use of Humanity in Motion materials. Read how clubs and districts can use Humanity in Motion graphics, and view the airport advertisements

Embed Rotary YouTube videos in your next presentation
For your next PowerPoint presentation, consider incorporating videos from Rotary's YouTube channel, which offers over 50 RI-produced videos, including public service announcements highlighting polio eradication, water, and membership, and clips from RVM: The Rotarian Video Magazine focused on peace, literacy, and hunger. Watch how easy it is to embed video from YouTube into your next presentation.
World Food Day
World Food Day, 16 October, provides an opportunity to highlight club and district efforts to address health and hunger issues. A week before the event, share projects related to hunger and disease with your local media. Start by reading about Rotary's efforts to fight child hunger in Global Outlook, then download some background information and a poster to help promote Rotary during World Food Day. Learn more, and find additional ideas on how to get involved.
Online archives of The Rotarian
Thanks to a collaboration between Rotary and Google, past issues of The Rotarian magazine can be viewed online in their entirety. All issues from 1959 through 2008 are now available, along with some earlier editions, and more will be coming. After you select an issue, a search box allows you to find keywords within that issue. You also can select the option below the search box to search all issues. Check them out.
