Why your club should participate in RLI.

Who should attend? Rotarians in your club who appear to have the potential for Club Leadership.  It is recommended that clubs nominate 2 Rotarians each year to begin RLI and support prior attendees continuation of the Parts II and III.

What is RLI?  It’s a series of leadership courses offered in 3 full-day parts (Parts I, II, & III).  Those completing each part are eligible to for the next part.  The courses are designed to provide Rotary knowledge and to develop leadership skills for voluntary organizations.  RLI is fun, interactive, participatory and uses top faculty and facilitation techniques to make the experience valuable and enjoyable.

When and where are RLIs available?  Soon they will be available in all districts of Zones 29 & 30 but for now the courses will be offered two to three times per year in each Zone.  Efforts will be made to locate RLIs in locations convenient to most Rotarians in each Zone.

Why should my club sent students to RLI?  Rotary clubs need a constant influx of new leadership as club officers, board and committee leaders change every year.  It is difficult at the club level to learn enough about the exciting world of Rotary with its 1.2 million members in 166 countries.

Furthermore, leadership skills in a voluntary organization are often different from business leadership skills.  It is important that club leaders have every opportunity for education because the success or failure of our clubs depends in large part on the quality of their leaders.  This is an outstanding opportunity for each club to improve the Rotary knowledge of its key people, who will also be exposed to new ideas of leadership.  Just the interaction with other Rotarians makes the courses worthwhile.

What is the cost? $85 per day, includes a full lunch.
