May 3 - Rotary Day at the Ballpark
 
Rotary Day at the Ballpark - May 3, 2008May 3, 2008 will be this year's Rotary Day at the Ballpark Cards vs. Cubs game in St. Louis.  This event is a must for any baseball fan! 
 
Our annual Literacy Fundraiser includes three great prizes!  Club Presidents received their tickets this week!
 
Grand Prize is a $5,000 value Colorado Condo vacation.
 
Two lucky winners will receive trips for two people to St. Louis for the Cards vs. Cubs May 3 ball game.  Valued at $750 each.
 
A limited number of box or Pavilion Box Outfield and Loge Reserved Tickets may be purchased on the District web site.  Plus we've arranged for optional $20 round-trip bus transportation (Jonesboro or Paragould to St. Louis)
 
 
Literacy Report Needed by April 4

We know Literacy has been a major emphasis of your clubs and one of your service goals for this year.  Thank you for your efforts to improve the literacy of children and adults. 

We would like to celebrate our clubs' successes at addressing the problems of illiteracy with a Literacy display and report at District Conference in Memphis, April 18 & 19.

Black Stallion Literacy Project comes to Arkansas in April!  Black Stallion Arabian Equine Shows - Barton Coliseum April 21; Jonesboro April 23 & Springdale April 25.
 
Dolly Parton Imagination Library was featured in the March issue of The Rotarian.  Read it online here.

Chesapeake Energy offers scholarships
 
Chesapeake Energy and the Rotary Club of Cleburne County have partnered with ASU Heber Springs and ASU Searcy to offer 10 - $1,000 scholarships to students who agree to take the Petroleum Technology Course (10 credit hours).

Is that District Governor-Elect Ray Keller behind those Foster Grants?
District Governor-Elect Ray Keller is working hard to put together another GREAT Rotary year. 
 
All club leaders should attend District Assembly on May 17 on the ASU Beebe Campus.  This will definately make District Governor-Elect Ray Keller smile.
