Rotary International District 6150
2007-2008 Goals

Club Goals

“The activities and organization of a Rotary district shall exist solely to help the individual Rotary club advance the Object of Rotary.”-Manual of Procedure, 2004

  • Promote The 4 Way Test and The Object of Rotary
  • Use the completed Planning Guide for Effective Rotary Clubs as a guide for the club’s goals and strategies
  • Develop a strategic plan for the next 3-5 years
  • Implement and use the Club Leadership Plan
  • Update your club bylaws
  • Encourage the club’s members especially the President elect to attend The 6150 District Conference in Memphis, Tennessee
  • Encourage the club’s members especially the officers to attend The RI Convention in Los Angeles, California
  • Encourage the club’s members especially the officers to attend The Annual Evanston visit
  • Participate in our first Friendship Exchange
  • Use the Speakers Bureau on the district website
  • Use the district, zone, and RI websites as a resource tool
  • Make a recognition plan and give awards to special Rotarians


Service Goals

“Water, health and hunger alleviation, literacy, and family of Rotary these are areas that build on each other, with each being a prerequisite for the next.”-Wilf Wilkinson, 2007

  • Participate in the District 6150 Medical Supply Network Project
  • Identify and participate in an international education, health and hunger project
  • Identify and participate in a regional service project within the service emphases
  • Participate in at least one literacy project, celebrate National Literacy Day and  Rotary Literacy Month (March)
  • Participate in a sustainable water project
  • Highlight the Family of Rotary through club programs, events and projects
  • Participate in the Healthy Smiles program
  • Formulate a Disaster Response Plan
  • Participate in District “Family of Rotary” Quilt project


Membership Goals

“The future of Rotary is shrouded in expectant mystery. It is for you my new Rotarian friends to aid in unfurling the Rotary destiny.¨-Paul Harris, 1941

  • Each member to successfully invite a new member into their club
  • Each club to develop a strategy to increase their membership
  • Each club to have and use a meaningful new member orientation program
  • Each club to have and use a membership retention strategy
  • Meet the membership goals set forth in the 2007’2008 recognition plan
  • Sponsor and help Charter 3 new clubs in 2007-2008
  • Maintain a high standard of attendance


Foundation Goals

“Charity Navigator, a leading evaluator of over public charities, has awarded The Rotary Foundation its top rating of 4 stars. Currently over 5000 organizations have  been evaluated and Rotary is rated in the top 1 %.”-Rotary International News, 2006

  • Participate in ¨Every Rotarian Every Year¨
  • Gain recognition in the Star Club Program ($100 per member)
  • Identify potential members of The Paul Harris Society
  • Attend The Rotary Foundation District Banquet
  • Attend the District Foundation Seminars
  • Participate in the Rotary Foundation District Golf Tournament
  • Attend all training that relates to Foundation knowledge
  • Have at least one Rotary Foundation program
  • Observe Rotary Foundation Month in November 2007
  • Use the RI website to further club foundation goals
  • Contribute to the District Annuals Fund goal of $250,000.00
  • Identify potential contributors to the Permanent Fund (goal $250,000)
  • Sponsor a student applicant for a RI Foundation Scholarship
  • Participate in the 2007-2008 GSE program
  • Work with the World Community Service Committee to participate in a matching grant
  • Contribute to the Polio Initiative
  • Identify past Foundation alumni and ask them to join  Rotary  


Youth Goals

“Rotary has long maintained that some of the best ambassadors of goodwill are to be found among youth, a belief that is validated every year by 7,000 Youth Exchange students who promote the cause of world peace in 80 countries worldwide.”

  • Have at least one Youth Exchange Program involving a student
  • Attend the South Central Regional Youth Exchange meeting in Little Rock
  • Be aware and fully involved in the district youth compliance certification program
  • Participate in Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp
  • Develop or enhance the club’s involvement in Interact
  • Develop or enhance the club’s involvement in Rotaract
  • Sponsor a student to attend the RI Convention


Training Goals

“We believe that excellent leadership is the key to successful service by our clubs to our communities and our world…”-Dave Linett RID, 2006

  • Identify future district leaders in each club
  • Each club to send their 2008-09 President to Mid America PETS
  • Each club to send their 2008-09 President, Secretary, and other club leaders to District Assembly/Secretary Elect Training
  • All district leadership team to District training
  • Participate in development and use of District e-learning program
  • Encourage participation in the Heart of America Rotary Leadership Institute

  • Each club to have a Public Image Chair
  • Use every opportunity to promote Rotary both locally and internationally
  • Place a billboard in partnership with other clubs
  • Participate in the Rotary District license plate project
  • Place a Rotary sign at city limits
  • Have a Public Image program
  • Submit news items to the district newsletter
  • Promote The Rotarian Magazine by sharing it with local businesses
