RI-CAS is the computer based data system that allows you and your secretary to best serve your club members. If your secretary is unfamiliar with this tool and missed Secretary-elect training they can still implement the software. We will arrange the training especially for your club!

Remember that Chuck Allen our District Secretary is also a volunteer and keeping up with almost 2400 Rotarians is no small task. Please help Chuck serve you better by using this modern Rotary software. Inquire about RI-Cas today!!

Presidential Membership Conference in Fort Lauderdale

IF you have a serious goal to help your club increase membership then this trip is for you. If your club has less than 25 active members then you should send someone to this meeting. If your club is 20 or less this meeting can help you overcome the serious membership challenge you are facing.

This is the last conference in this series on August 24-25. President Wilf will be in attendance. Please consider attending with me or send your membership chair or another representative! If you or anyone in your club is interested please contact me ASAP so we can travel together.

The cost is $218.00 for the plane ticket departing Friday AM and Returning Saturday PM. The hotel room for Friday night is $79.00 and registration is $118.00. The experience is priceless!!

The President's Forum was held in Little Rock on Thursday, August 2, 2007. It was very enjoyable and worthwhile! There were 21 in attendance with 11 Presidents and President elects participating in discussion with their AG's and Senior District leaders. Topics ranging from fund raising, membership and the upcoming golf tournament were shared.

Special Thanks to Elizabeth Small, President and Karen Fetzer, Executive Director both of THe Rotary Club of Little Rock for hosting this event in Elizabeth's offices and also Thanks for the good food and refreshments!!

We will have these forums throughout the year at different locations in the district. Save these next dates and locations:  August 27 in Batesville, September 5 in Dewitt, and September 18 in Jonesboro.

Our next forum in Batesville will be held at Eagle Mountain Golf Course. This is the location of our District Golf Tournament this Rotary year.

Membership and Retention is the emphasis of the month of August on the Rotary Calendar! This is the opportunity for each of us to ask someone to join Rotary! Remember you will need to ask 5 people before someone will accept. President Wilf has asked that each Rotarian bring a new member into Rotary in 2007-2008. Share Rotary with someone this month! Please meet with your membership chair and implement your plans now!

The Annual District 6150 Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on October 8, 2007 at Batesville. The District Golf Tournament Committee is working hard and they are making plans that will insure a very successful golf tournament! Please encourage your club to send at least one team. Details will be forthcoming!!

The Annual Evanston Trip is being arranged by DGN Debbie Brinkley. The date is forthcoming. This is a weekend in Chicago/Evanston that culminates with a Monday visit to Rotary World Headquarters. The day is filled with useful presentations with Rotary Staff and usually an opportunity to meet Senior Rotary leaders and tour the facilities. It is a great opportunity to experience another aspect of Rotary.

I will spend time this week communicating with your district committee chairs as they are progressing in their goals.

Have a great week!

Rotary Shares 5 useful tips to insure your club's success!

FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CONFERENCE IN NASHVILLE

Why is membership growth important for Rotary?

As we start the new Rotary year, let's reflect on some of the reasons that membership growth is important for Rotary.

  • Membership growth increases Rotary's capacity for service.
  • New Rotarians bring fresh ideas, new interests, and increased energy to clubs.
  • More members increase the volume of support for The Rotary Foundation.
  • Diversity in membership ensures that the club is relevant to the entire community.
  • Service-minded individuals are given the opportunity to help their communities through Rotary.
  • More members create a larger network for both local and international fellowship.
  • New and younger members ensure the future of Rotary and its work.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WEEKLY COMMUNICATION TO ANYONE YOU THINK WILL BENEFIT FROM THE INFORMATION.

Bob Warner, Jr.
