Make an Impact: Sponsor a Rotaract Club at Your Local College
By Carol Langston, District 6150 Rotaract Committee Co-Chair

Is your club looking for a way to involve and inspire young professionals in your community? If so, why not sponsor a Rotaract club at your local college or university?

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are usually community-based or college/university-based and are sponsored by a local Rotary club making them true "partners in service" and key members of the Rotary family.

Rotaract Members provide service around the world.Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.

All Rotaract efforts begin at the local grassroots level and all Rotaract clubs have access to the many resources of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation.

As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 7,600 Rotaract clubs in some 158 countries, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.

Rotaractors also often spearhead the formation of Interact clubs and participate in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Rotaractors also can go on to become Ambassadorial Scholars or Group Study Exchange members.

As co-chair of the District 6150 Rotaract Committee, I invite all Rotarians at the club and district level to help support Rotaract. Our goal is to establish at least one new Rotaract club in District 6150 this year. Will your club step up to the plate to help us reach this goal?

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can provide you with additional information on forming a Rotaract club. Also, I will be happy to speak to your organization about this wonderful opportunity.

Rotary will be a stronger and better organization if we can build a better bond between Rotary and Rotaract. The future is in your hands.
