District Conference Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who should attend District Conference?
   District Conferences are for ALL Rotarians and their families.
   
   
2. Where can I register for the conference?
   You can go to www.rotary6150.org/go/dc2008 to register for this year's district conference.
   
   
3. When does the Full Meal Package Early Bird rate expire?
   Register by April 2 to lock in the Early Bird rate of $160 for the complete meal package. 
   
   
4. What is the registration deadline?
   Registration deadline is April 14 due to the need for meal counts.
   
   
5. When does the Doubletree Hotel discounted room rate expire?
   Book your room before April 2 to get the special $105 rate, after April 2 the rate goes up to $130.
   
   
6. How do I make a Hotel Reservation?
   Conference Registration does not include hotel reservations. Doubletree Hotel Memphis Downtown reservations must be made separately by following this link: www.memphisdoubletree.com  Be sure to enter ‘ROT” in the Group / Conference Code field to get our special discounted rate.  You may also call the hotel at 901.528.1800 or 800.222.8733.
   
   
7. May I bring my spouse or significant other?
   Spouses and significant others are welcome but they must register as well if they want to attend the plenary sessions and meals. Spouses and significant others are the same price as members.
   
   
8. Should I bring my children to the conference?
   Yes, we hope you will!  You can register children for individual meal events, the Zoo Package on Friday evening, etc.  If needed, there is a babysitting service available through the hotel’s concierge.  Contact the hotel directly at (901) 528-1800 for more information.  Children 6 years of age and under are free.
   
   
9. I want the full meal package for me but I need additional tickets for my spouse/guest for one or two events. How do I do this with the online registration form?
   The online registration form allows you to select one or two full meal packages plus one or two additional event tickets for any of the meal events.  This is the best way to obtain the lowest total cost.
   
   
10. What is the dress code for the conference?
    Business casual for most of the conference. Friday night at the Zoo is casual. Saturday night dinner will be Business attire or Cocktail attire.

12. Is there a charge for the shuttle to the Memphis Zoo on Friday night?
    Yes there will be a charge for this service – we are still negotiating the price but it will be less expensive than taking your personal vehicle and parking at the zoo.
    
    
13. What is included in the Zoo Package?
    Food Fest at the Memphis Zoo’s Northwest Passage area will begin at 7:00 pm plus we will be treated to a private seal and polar bear feeding exhibition.
    
    
14. I would like to spend more time in the Zoo on Friday while all attractions are open, what should I do?
    If you would like to spend more time at the Zoo while the entire park is open, you must arrive prior to its 6:00 pm general public closing time.  This admission is not included in the Zoo Package.  You will be permitted to remain in the Zoo to visit exhibits until our event begins at 7:00 p.m.
